Dan wouldn't win too many matches in S. America against  dyed in the wool clay courters.  He could well be in the running for an invite though - plenty more points on offer in this Asian swing, then a couple of grass court Challengers and then the US Open series where he did so well in 2013.  He'd probably win arounf $15k just for turning up - nice holiday money for him and his gf.  Then back to Brum for Crimbo!

Today's win should take Liam back up into the mid 230s. The Milkman will be a tough proposition in the QF though.

I watched a good bit of Liam's match.  It was too windy for really good tennis so it is hard to assess his level. I have to agree that Milkman is going to be a tough proposition.

Dan shouldn't be troubled by Nam wr566.  Dan is 1st up at 1.00pm local, I don't think the match will be interesting enough to set the alarm clock...

Must be pretty close to securing that Wimby WC too. Another win should do it

Nice to see Liam continue his winning ways, tough match next against Milky.

Anyone know much about the end of year Challenger tournament for the top 8 Challenger players, just wondering where Dan would be, not that it would be one of his aims or anything, just interested.

Couldn't find anything online about it apart from previous years.

Someone on the menstennisforum keeps an unofficial challenger rankings thread going which they update. Current challenger only rankings has Dan at 4th.

 Great, thank you.

It's usually held in south America and has 200k in prize money, wonder if Dan would turn up if he was still in the top 8?

Considering it's normally on Clay(I think) and Dan is completely avoiding the clay court season then I'd imagine there's a good chance if qualified that he misses it.

It's hosted in Sao Paulo, but the court varies. Was indoor hard in 2011 and 2012, outdoor clay in 2013 and indoor clay in 2014 and 2015.

Another great win for Liam, getting through these tightish matches is massive, and I'd put him in the nailed on category for a Wimby WC now.

Good to see Liam getting back into winning matches at this level. Hope it stands him in good stead for the grass season.

Last year the challenger finals were the same week as the Davis Cup final. One would assume that if GB were involved again this year then Dan would be involved (assuming the scheduling weeks are the same). However, if (God forbid!) GB weren't in the final, and Dan qualified, I would be surprised if he didn't turn up. Some pretty tasty money on offer, and all expenses paid in a vibrant city like SP? Why the devil not

Dan's scheduled to be on center court for 1pm local time tomorrow - which is a 5am UK start for those of you keen for some stress before work.

I think we'd all be a little concerned if Dan had trouble beat ing a player ranked outside the top 500!   Next up is Sugita the 7th seed or the Korean  Lee (wr 231).  Lee had 2 match points in the 2nd set tie break but went on to lose it 10-12.  The winner could have tired legs tomorrow!   The tiebreak was entertaining and worth watching if you want some insight into Dan's next match.  Both players are baseliners, neither have terribly big serves.  Dan shouldn't have too much trouble getting into points when he is receiving.
