A very good win for Liam backing up last weeks victories although as I said earlier in the thread Berrer's recent results have been somewhat erratic. Decent chance in R2 against Nguyen.
It will be interesting to see how Dan plays today. It will be his first outdoor match since the Australian Open and for reasons that I can't understand he hasn't been given a Wednesday start, which is normally done when a player has been involved in a final on the Sunday. Hopefully I won't happen but wouldn't be too surprised, or worried, if Dan was bomb today. On the plus side if he does win he will face Japanese wild card Ji Sung Nam WR 566 who has just defeated Sam Groth.
Given all the R1 ties have been scheduled over Monday and Tuesday ( 5 on Monday, 11 on Tuesday ) it is clear that was the plan to have R1 completed by Tuesday.
So I am not surprised that no exception has been made for Dan, but his is one of three final scheduled matches today. I would assume Wednesday starts for Sunday finalists are usual when it was planned to have Wednesday R1 matches.

Normally a previous week's finalist will be allowed a Wednesday start unless the tournament has a Saturday finish (which obviously needs all R1 matches to be done by Tuesday) regardless of the original plan. It happened last week in An-Ning when a single R1 match was held over till Wednesday, although in that case it was required by the rules as Enrique Lopez-Perez played in a final on a different continent the previous week.
Happily it doesn't seem to have caused Dan and problems. He is off to a great start and leads 4-1*
Yep, quite the opposite of 'bombing', Dan looks to have been 'the bomb' instead today. Great to see Liam picking up another win as well, competing at this level is, I feel, pretty pivotal for his confidence if nothing else
