I also think that Evo, Kedders and the Broady Bunch could be great for inspiring kids to take up the game once they become better known to the wider British public who only tend to watch tennis during Wimbledon. All of them come across in the media as pretty ordinary and down to earth like they could be living next door to you.
Good solid win for Dan although given how he is playing not a particularly surprising one (I had a tenner on him). Millman is a solid enough player but I think his ranking flatters him and a lot of his wins this year at ATP level have come against players who were badly out of form. I don't think there is much doubt that Dan has the higher level of the two and that if he played well he would be in charge of the match.
Yay A131 and polite of you to answer a question even if some people find the Slam MD WC 'system' disagreements boring. And anyway always new folk each year to lead to a better path
I didn't say I found the topic boring. I said I found people saying the same thing over and over boring. I must have read the same thing at least 20 times on different threads where it get stated that wild cards shouldn't be given at Grand Slams etc.
And it is off topic to the thread. If you want to discuss go and talk about it in a dedicated wild card thread to your hearts content. This topic is about the Busan challenger.
Wish I had just quoted this In hindsight!
Fair dos, noted and apologies. Expect a dedicated thread in the fairly near future
Dan will play Kravchuk in the final, who he beat so narrowly to win the title last week. I will be interested to see what game plan he puts together with Hilts.
Unfortunately for us, their match has a morning start - first up is the doubles at 10.00 and the singles staigt after (not before 11.00) I'm usually wrong when I translate to UK time, but I think that is a 3.00am...
If I had Sky Sports and some amphetamines, I'd pop a couple of those pills so I could watch Dan v. KK swiftly followed by Khan v. Alvarez in Las Vegas.
I've watched quite a lot of Dan over the last couple of weeks. He is beating good players, earning points and has an increasingly happy bank manager. What I really want to know is how often he can reach the level he achieved against Berankis. The standard of his play in that match was huge! I think that match is still watchable.
Kyle and Dan are neck and neck in the live rankings. If they both win their finals the will be 3 points apart!
Dan is looking very impressive these days. Looking forward to seeing what he can do on the main tour in the grass season and beyond.
Great to see. Would be interesting to see who would most keep this up ( hope they both do ) and claim a Davis Cup berth if the Serbia tie were on hard. Since clay that will clearly be Kyle. Though I am not convinced that Andy will be there.
Best of all though just to see this set of results from, well including Andy, our 3 top players of the year so far and all in finals this week ( which may have Steven digging or already primed to possibly answer a question or two )
