Yay, good stuff on qualifying and so far adding 5 ( net 4 ) points.
Tara, like Laura, is now just one further win away from finally giving us a #4 in the top 300. Whoever she draws I fancy Tara more than Laura ( vs Timea Babos )
Well done Tara. She's made main draw at a $50K 3 times in the last year, but only once managed to win a round (Eastbourne $50K last june) The qualifier spots have some decent placings, so we might get another progression all being well. There is also, I note, the potential to be drawn in a rematch against a certain Ms. Burger, so the pun-machine is on standby, ready.
Actually, looking at Tara's career, I'm surprised how little impact she has had at $50K and above. 4 times a quarter finalist, and only twice better, including that amazing weird we in Kazan in 2012, where she made the final. Career to date in $50K-$100K, she is 17-21 in R32, and 4-13 in R16.
Which probably rather explains and illustrates the limits of her best ranking and titles to date. The change can come any week though, and the potential is still there, so why not this week?
Bah, but at least Tara still has singles this week and looks not too bad a draw ...
R1: (Q) Tara Moore WR 314 vs Elizaveta Ianchuk (UKR) WR 271 ( CH 258 04/04/16 )
It's making it tougher Tara having to qualify for such events in singles and also looking to do well in doubles. So it would suit all round for her to have a good run or two in singles, get her ranking up and sneak into such events as Conny has done here.
