Week 17 - Challenger ($50,000) - Tallahassee Tennis Challenger, Tallahassee, Fla, USA (green clay)

Dino keeps plugging away:

L32:  James Ward WR 173 (CH = 89 last July) vs Axel Michon (FRA) WR 218 (CH = 177 in July 2014)

Un-bloody-believable!

R1:  (WC) Morgan Phillips ( smile ) & James Ward UNR (0 [but a CH of 399 in October 2011 - he's actually only 31]+0 [but a CH of 233 in August 2011]) vs Ruan Roelofse (RSA) & Darren Walsh CR 366 (122+244) bleh  disbelief

I believe so, but has that to do with my expression of dismay at the fact that he & Dino had been drawn against Darren & partner?  confuse

Surely doubles wild cards will only be given to players with a decent track record in doubles and not used simply to give a little extra cash to to favoured singles players wink

James serves 2 DFs at 15-15, 5-5.  Then an ace, then a near ace.....He held in the end.   he leads 6-5, Michon to serve.

Well, that was OK-ish

But James played a good first set last week, against Tennys, and then imploded in no uncertain terms so still too early to say yet ....

finally but not holding much hope out double fault on set point 6-1 in the tie break, he finally got it done 7-5!

needs a lot more faith, this is not the wardy who took Isner to 14-16 in the fifth
