Oops. Dan has MP when serving at *5-2 but DFs and then hands back one of the breaks. He will get another chance though.

5-3*

..... but doesn't need that extra chance as he breaks again to take the match 6-4 6-3

That has to be a CH ranking in the bag, but WE WANT MORE.

I have to say that this week is turning into a fantastic week for Brits in Challengers - with Liam, James and Dan all still going at QF stage and even Mandy and Tara still going on the girls side

Difficult to say as there is so much movement around him with other players dropping points.  At the moment, it would probably only take him up a 2 or 3 places, but a tournament win, may just sneak him inside that Top 100.

He plays Matosevic next, ranked 375 but with a CH of 39.  Matosevic was the guy Liam beat at Wimkedo last year.

At least 18 points & $2,190 in the coffers! wink

*****

QF:  Amir Weintraub (ISR) WR 198 (CH = 161 in May 2012) vs Liam Broady WR 279

L16:  (6) Dan Evans WR 123 defeated Jimmy Wang (TPE) WR 327 by 4 & 3

*****

QF:  (Q) Marinko Matosevic (AUS) WR 375 (CH = 39 in February 2013) vs (6) Dan Evans WR 123

That's going to be an interesting encounter...

Matosevic next - live rankings have Dan at 120 and a win against the Aussie would climb a further 3-4 places

Liam takes the first set 7-5 dropping only 8 points on serve. Keep it going Liam...

And an even better 2nd set from Liam as he takes the win 7-5, 6-3. Didn't face a single break point losing only 14 on serve. Takes him into the 250s in live rankings with possibly more to follow this week and 2 more 100k +H weakish challengers to come!
