RE: Week 17 - Challenger ($75,00+H) - Santaizi ATP Challenger, Taipei, Taiwan (carpet)

Dan's attacking patterns of play that were so effective yesterday are not getting the job done today.  KK moving well and defending with power.  He is serving well and  making few errors.  Dan maintains his lead in the 2nd, but he has his work cut out.    2-1 to Dan,  he serves.

Kravchuk has been playing with both power and finesse. He's been a better player so far than Berankis yesterday, comes to the net well. Dan's first serve ok, but his double fault count is higher than yesterday probably because his second serve has been under pressure. Dan still has the break second set, 3-6, *3-2, but he remains decidedly vulnerable looking.

Thought Dan looked nervous at the start but his serve has been awful, been solid all week before today.

I thought Dan looked really good at the start but then got tighter as more and more of his better shots came back.

Dan claws his way back into it, taking the second set by 6-4.    Three aces & seven double faults compared with KK's four aces & no double faults!

Not a great level of play from Dan in that set but fought his way through many tight service games.

Dan hung tough admirably there after breaking first game of the set, saved his best service game till last. Hope he can continue Set 3.

It is deja vu all over again!  KK loses his first service game.  A couple of close UEs and two very close calls went against him.  1-0, Dan serving

Those calls were close but from the slow motion replays they looked to be correct.

Kravchuk struggling to stay cool now, after giving away that break by not playing the ball that indeed looked in.

Agreed looked correct in the replays but seem to have agitated Kravchuk, time to take advantage Dan.

Dan pulls out a great hold (3 DFs!) to go 3-1 ahead.

Incredible hold! - 3 more DFs, several BPs saved, and some good shot making in between 3-1*
