Would be nice if Beth could follow up her excellent win with another solid performance.

She has only one point (not including this week's) from a foreign clime, with a lot of her GB ones coming as automatic one-pointers from wildcards into higher level events - it's not a great results sheet.

When I say her play Serena Nash recently, though, I thought she was playing a lot better, in some clearly definable areas, and (in my view) you could definitely see the benefit/work that Soto had been doing.

Linking up with Soto, and stretching her wings to break her addiction to British Tour events, is a really positive step for her.

A QF (minimum) spot here would be a nice step in the right direction.

Very good to see Beth follow up that CH win with a further win. Next opponent back close to the ranking of that CH win.

That should be another in the top 1000 - competition to break into the top 25 tables with Sam close on her heels

Certainly should. In fact Beth and Katie B are already currently in the top 1000 with 9 points, WR 989 and 996 respectively.

Beth will drop out of the top 25 on Monday when Katie's title point from last week get added, and even now increasing to 11 points will 'in running' lie behind Lucy Brown and Emily Appleton, who on Monday will be GB #24 and #25 with their 12 points, currently putting them at WR 904 and 920 respectively. So another win to get Beth back into the top 25

WR 920 or thereabouts on Monday will be the highest we have had the GB #25 in a long time. With Cav going to drop out over the summer though and with a number of points drops as well as hopefully points gains in the next couple of months it is good to add to the numbers with such potential from the returning Sam in particular and also Eden

As things stand for a week on Monday  :

22. Naomi Cav 15

23, Jazzamay 14

24. Lucy 12

25. Emily App 12  ( currently WR 920 on these points )

26. Beth 11

.. then currently gap to

27. Emma Hurst 6

28 - 32. our remaining ranked players

.... but here comes Sam

Against the top seeds, no less smile

Re the rankings, it will be lovely to have a more tight-knit contingent in the top 1000 (regardless of GB positioning).

It's not that far off being all 25 in the top 900....

Of course, depending whether you're a glass half-full or glass half-empty sort of person, there are a lot of GB  players with significant points to come off over the next 6 weeks (Lucy, Jazzamay, Beth, Laura D, Fran, Anna B, Harriet, Tara, Mandy... as well as Savannah, Jasmine, Emma....)

BUT there will be great chances to put on new points (Eastbourne, Surbiton, Ilkley, Nottingham....)
