I'm pretty sure she was top 200, cwej - about 160 or 170, from recollection (although maybe not for very long).

But, absolutely, she's a very good player - will be great to see her back playing again. Does anyone know what injury she sustained?

She had surgery on a wrist injury.

Great to see Sam back.

Now if only Georgie returned.

 And Eleanor.

Sam getting some more court time in the doubles, reasonably competitive so far against the #2 seeds.
Just broke back to re-level the second set.
4-6 *4-4

Saved 3 MP in game 12, but not a fourth. Reasonable showing, and good match time for Sam against a decent level of opposition.
R1: Murray/Malmqvist (GBR/SWE) lost Pribylova/Totka (RUS/HUN) [2] 4-6 5-7

Oh yes. Can't believe how many of our top talent players end up injured.

I have wondered if our players get more injured than most.....couldn't think of any real way to check.....

It sort of seems it but, actually, when eyeballing the situation as regards the French, say, I tend to think there's no real difference, the problem is that our ones are so much more noticeable because we have so little depth, or breadth, of players.

Katie secures the first set, two breaks to one.
Quite a long first set at 51 minutes, average of 7 points per game.

Katie accelerating the pace a bit in the second set, pulling away.

Reeled back in a bit, but now match points at 40-15*...
6-4 5-3*

First gone...

Good win and hopefully a straight forward next round and a good chance to climb up the rankings.
