Well done Laura biggrin - bit of a wobble closing it out but aside from that a dominant win.

 

All the stats look pretty good, 81% pts won on first serve, and 57% on second serve with only 2 double faults.

Really pleased for Laura, a nice solid win. We all know she has the talent but, many have questioned the heart, it would be great to see her come back onto the main tour.

For me the barrier has been as much mental, getting over the line which was especially evident in last year's US Open. But as Paulisi says hopefully this will be a big confidence boost. Obviously there's still a long way to go and final set TBs will present very different challenges to a set and 5-1 (and even that seemed a bit of a struggle today) but hopefully this is the first step on the long road back.

I'm happy and relieved. I knew that it wold take some time for her to get back to winning ways, but I must admit that I didn't think it would take this long. Against a WR 117, not a bad win to start it off
