Great fight from Freya, shame she couldnt get the win but an extremely positive week! Should be up to around 350 on Monday if i'm correct with 108 points? 5 from Karshi then 6 from Istanbul?

5 & 5, but the ranking looks about right.
I woud agree with Deano13 5+6 (5 in Q and 1 in MD)

No, back to 5 plus 5 ( well, 5 plus net 4, since after last week she had her full 16 counters, Freya will now go to 97 + 5 + ( 5 - 1 ) = 106 points
Women qualifiers don't add on MD R1 losing points, ( ie neither the 1 in most tournaments or the 10 in mandatories ), though the full qualifying points ( 5 here ) would have added to any subsequent losing round score : points for losing in R1 = 5 + 0, if she had gone out in R2 = 5 + 8.
Anyway, real pity for Freya. it did look on the face of it a very decent main draw chance for these Q plus R2 points ( and now with a complete 16 counters it becomes more useful to get some bigger hits in ) and she battled well. Clearly though she still generally continues in pretty good form.

Shame she couldn't sneak that one. Definitely seems comfortable at this level. It's only a matter of time before she starts winning these kind of matches regularly.

Yes, and it's very good to see from her Twitter remark that she did not like losing! Freya has begun to hit her stride this year - even if her ranking points don't really show it yet - and it will be interesting to see where it takes her to by the end of the grass court season.
