Week 14 - USA F4 ($25,000) - Memphis, TN - (Hard)

A win for 17 year-old Matt, fresh from the junior competitions:

In the main draw, there's a wildcard for British player, Connor Glennon (qui?), but he gets drawn against none other than second seed, Tennys S, which is hardly a 'cadeau' by any stretch of the imagination.

Bambo is drawn against Hans Hach from Mexico, currently ATP 750, CH 528.

NB Luke and Darren are playing the doubles together, and top seeds too.

Rare for Darren Walsh to play futures, seems to have been more than a year since he last did. He has been very persistent in playing challengers, but his ranking has dropped a bit and it looks like he could really do with a regular partner.

Although rare to play futures, With the 15k's bumping up 2 25k's i'd assume this makes them a more viable option?
Just worked out a breakdown using same formula of distribution as the old 15k's it should work out something like this Per a player.
1/4 final $225
1/2 final $325
runner up $412
winner $800

Connor graduated from Memphis this summer.  Think he had a pretty successful career there.

Would be nice for Bambo to have a run of decent results in singles.

virtually nothing to defend until October bar one scorer of 13pts in May. Seems to be staying in the US - been out for a while and entered for another 2 weeks and then presumably back for the grass court season and hopefully some wildcards into the challengers.

Not quite the pasting I was expecting:

L32:  (2) Tennys Sandgren (USA) WR 286 defeated (WC) Connor Glennon UNR by 1 & 4

Excellent doubles result. That's a very clinical defeat of a not badly ranked pair. Next opponents more dangerous than they look - Reese is underranked. All the best to the new GB pairing.
