Good set of 'Naomi Tennis' there, tight and simple. Effective serving and enough pressure on most of the opponents services to keep them worried.

Looking at the stats, I didn't realise Naomi won 18/18 first serve points in that set!

9 of those 18 were unreturned first serves or aces. 5 were won with aggressive first ground-strokes after her serve. Karin contributed 2 ues.

Based on the match stats, Naomi deserves to be further ahead than she is in this match - but now that she has finally taken the lead she is in a good position to finish this off.

What a shocking service game that was! Broken to 15. No first serves. Error after error. 2-2

Immediately breaks with a couple of deep returns causing Karin to miss. An ace saves one bp but Karin dumps a forehand in the net on the next *3-2

Naomi 30-0 up plays 2 careless points, one a woeful attempt at a drop shot, gets game point but Karin wins the next 2 first serve points, yet to have a 2nd serve in this game. Naomi saves a bp but then df, broken after Knapp dominates a 2nd serve point 3-3

Naomi with a return that clips the net causing Karin trouble, a df makes it 30-30, then a super lob from Naomi for 30-40, Karin backhand error wide for another break *4-3

Another awful service game from Naomi, Karin got some serves back in play and let Naomi implode, last two were sliced backhand unforced errors, after an earlier df and a forehand ue 4-4

Incredible. Karin implodes from 30-15 so Naomi now serving for the match *5-4

Comfortable love hold to finish 6-4

3rd set the standard of tennis was awful from both players. To her credit, Naomi started getting her 2nd serve returns in play, giving her the chance to break regularly, though Karin contributed a lot of errors to the later breaks of serve
