Hev was so desperate to win that match, with her dad in attendence, but KP was so awkward and very good at anticipating where Hev was going to put her shots. She brought loads of energy but just too many poor errors and credit to KP, she just did enough eventhough it could have gone either way. Conditions not ideal, slightly favoured KP most probably.
Naomi took a bit of time to get her engine revving, but now seems to have warmed up, has recovered an early break, and is back on serve.
Naomi's serve makes this secondary court look considerably faster than the comparable Pliskova serve did yesterday on the main show court against Heather. If Naomi can progress and subsequently plays on the other court, it will function as an interesting direct comparison between the two big serves in the same conditions.
*5-5
3 terrible 2nd serve returns that missed by miles, cost Naomi in that tiebreak break. Apart from that she played reasonably well. Set point she got a first serve in play but Knapp's return was good enough to give her control of the point until she finished with a smash winner.
