Week 14 - ITF ($10K) - Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt Hard

She gets a 19 year old next, Karoline Kurz from Austria, ranked 848, who won easily today. Hope Manisha can keep today's level of performance up against her, I suspect it won't be an easy match.

When the points get added on that should make 25 girls inside the top 1000, with Katie B and Sam Murray still to come. The men currently have 27 inside the top 1000

I initially thought that, but there will probably not be 25 girls inside the top 1000 on Monday week. As Manisha, the current #25, moves from 9 to at least 11 points, Sarah Beth Grey ( nee Askew ) drops points from Barnstaple last year, going from 14 back to 9 points.

Cav will drop out the rankings totally in a few months, but I do agree that a kind of changing of the guard, at least in depth, is probably on its way in time from the GB men to women. Just seems much more that one can see coming through among the women.

A tremendous battling first set performance there from Manisha. Held her nerve at the right time to pull through 7-5 in over an hour.

Manisha wins 7-5, 7-6(4) :D

Her SF opponent could be 4th seed currently ahead on court 2
