Boys: USTA International Spring Championships, hard - Grade 1 (Week 13)

Luke Hammond and Matthew Story stay on in the States for a G1 event and have both drawn qualifiers (Matt having come through that as well).  I don't see them on today's oop but when they do play live scores should be available at http://www.tennisticker.de/usa/usta-sb.html

R1 (L64)

(Q) Arnav Dhingra (USA) v Luke Hammond

(Q) Matthew Story v (Q) Sam Turchetta (USA)

Little summary from here: solid match from Luke first round, didn't get broken and putting a lot of the work from the practice court onto the match court which was good.

2nd round played a guy who played very similar...you don't often see two guys over 6 foot 4 playing each other at ITF's! Really good match, Luke managed to get to 4-1 up in the third but didn't have the belief to get over the line it seemed. Would have loved to have seen Luke have a crack at somebody top 10 ITF and play with no pressure on....even though Peck lost 1n0 somehow. But that will have to wait. Hopefully Luke's done enough in the last 12 months to have a chance on the grass court events....fingers crossed.
