No sooner did I type the above than the qualifiers did get placed. Ed got possibly the best of the draws.

L32: (Q) Ed Corrie WR 417 v David Guez (FRA) WR 206 (CH 106 July 2010)

As I have mentioned on here before, I have seen Guez play live in Marseille. He is a solid but unspectacular player and nothing for Ed to fear. A win against the Frenchman would set up a possible rematch with Dan Evans in the L16, assuming Dan gets through his match tomorrow. 10am start local time (9am UK) and Dan is 4th match on Centre Court, so should be streamed.

Ed gets Frenchman Guez (WR206) in round 1. Potential L16 match up with Evo if they both get through
Well done to Ed for coming through qualifying, he seems to be in a good place at the moment

Beaten to the punch!!

Yes, good draw for Ed (at least insofar as the first round )

Jonathan Marray is also in the doubles.

Dan gets an early break to lead *3-1

Looks like he is playing the patient game today and simply waiting for his opponent to miss.

Evo finally takes the set in the breaker. Looked like he'd take it a few times earlier on but Caruso battled back a few times.

Evo made very hard work of winning the first set eventually taking it 7-6(4) on his 7th set point.

The set point that he did take was a belter.

Absolutely awful game from Caruso - long, long, long, into the bottom of the net, all pretty unforced other than asking him to hit tennis shots, gives Evo a break for *3-2

Wrapped up in clinical fashion, 7-6, 6-2 :)

And I went back to see Evo waltz through his final service game ( having presumably waltzed through the two previous games ) to win 7-6(4) 6 -2
