R1: (4) Jamie Murray & Bruno Soares (BRA) CR 10 (2+8) vs Iņigo Cervantes & David Ferrer (ESP/ESP) UNR (155+0) R1: Dom Inglot & Robert Lindstedt (SWE) CR 62 (35+27) vs Roberto Bautista & Victor Troicki CR 484 (307+177)
Believe it or not, the winners of those two matches face one another in Round 2.
Completely off topic, is anyone else finding that the forum isn't showing that threads have new posts whenever they log on, i.e. topics appear in bold whenever there's a new reply? I noticed the problem at work today (IE), but it's the same at home, where I use Firefox.

Wow, who knew Dom had a Swedish brother (from another mother?). Also, has Roberto dropped his Agut?

As to your first pot shot, SMC, simple "slip" of the keyboard after a hard day at the office & now dealt with.
As for your second point, no, it was deliberate on my part. I'm growing more than a little tired of pointing out that Spanish compound surnames consist of the father's surname ("patronymic"), the first shown, & the mother's ("matronymic"), the second, which can safely be dropped. If you think that's being sexist, I would point out that I am myself female & a professional linguist & have no issues with that. In addition, TeniSpain, the Spanish Tennis Federation's web site, rarely bothers to quote the matronymic in match results, so what's good enough for TeniSpain is good enough for me.
As intimated in the singles thread, Jamie & Bruno also lost in R1.
I see that their are opponents were different for above, and this appears to be due to Miami ****ing up their doubles seedings ( basing them on the wrong week I assume ) for the second year running ( or second in three ), Jamie & Bruno were correctly changed to third seeds, with the Bryans changed to fourth seeds and taking up the tie vs Cervantes and Ferrer next to Dom & Robert's tie ( which they won 6-3 7-5 ).
Whatever, we are still left with two losses :
R1: Dom Inglot & Robert Inglot (SWE) CR 62 (35+27) lost to Roberto Bautista & Victor Troicki CR 484 (307+177) 6-3 7-5
R1: (3) Jamie Murray & Bruno Soares (BRA) CR 10 (2+8) lost to Raven Klaasen & Rajeev Ram (RSA/USA) CR 56 (20+36) 3-6 6-3 [10-7]
You can also have the pleasure of my doubles WR 1 implications, which I posted in that other thread :
Bah
Actually, in spite of adding zilch this week, and indeed losing a net 90 from last year, Jamie could yet go WR 1 after Miami. He'd hardly be matching triumphantly into the position, but who cares, he would have just about crawled through the window that lately has been left open and it was a Slam title that essentially set up the position.
Rojer & Tecau are no threat from behind, having also lost in R1.
Melo & Dodig play their R2 match tomorrow against Huey & Mirnyi. They only got through their R1 match in a MTB.
As in Indian Wells, Jamie is a match away from being WR 1, but in this case a match that he has no control over, well for the second time this tournament.
