RE: technical issue

It seems as though the image at the top of the page has gone missing again - or is it just for me.

The British Tennis logo (as per the Aliblahblah post in this thread) has been replaced with an image from "Tinypic" that says "This image is no longer available".

Yes me too. Would be nice to get the old one back, or even if someone wanted to design a new one.

I just noticed the image problem too. If you look on tinypic.com/, they say they're shutting down, together with a list of dates when things needed to be retrieved. It's a pity they didn't alert us before the final shutdown date (today) but maybe they emailed whoever put the image there (Sheddie?) and the email got treated as spam.

I can't remember whether the pic was exactly the same as the one at the top of the britishtennis.net stats homepage or slightly different but if someone (Sheddie might be the only one) has access to update our header image URL on Activeboard, it could just be changed to point to www.britishtennis.net/pictures/britishtennis_site_banner.jpg and that would solve the problem unless or until people want to replace it with a new image.

I've lost the picture of the tennis net at the top of the main page, is that the same for everyone, can it be remedied or is it time for a change?

Yes, this:

Can we not recover it from here ?

Bob - yes we can, that's what I was trying to say in my post, but someone needs enough access to the admin area on our Activeboard account to be able to link to the image on the www.britishtennis.net server instead. I think Sheddie is the only person who can access that admin area on our Activeboard account (perhaps Drew can too but I can't)

I am having another minor technical issue at the moment. Quite often it is still telling me I have "unread posts" in a thread even though I have already read them. This has been going on for a few days now.

Anyone else having the same issue ?

Edit

And as a case in point, it is now telling me that I haven't read my own message.  When I go to the "Home Page" it is also saying that the last post in this section was Steven's post yesterday, even though this message appears in the thread.

Guess that Activeboard are having some time and date stamp issues of their own right now.

Yes. Frustrating to read the same message over and over.

But a relief to know it's not just me. Thanks.

I just go by threads being highlighted in bold that have new posts since last I went into them and that has been fine.

Likewise. I didn't realise there was any other way to do it!

That's the problem I am having.  There are threads highlighted in bold that I have read and that don't have unread messages.  I can go into a thread, leave it and it is still bold, even though I have just read it.

I am not using the "back" button when I come out.

Also, for example, I was in this thread earlier, and the home page was saying "last post, Steven - 1hr ago".  I then made a post and refreshed, but the home page was still referencing Steven's post as the most recent. Mine did not register, even though it was there.

Interesting.

I'm not having any of that problem - it's all fine and as normal.

But the logo at the top has disappeared and been replace with silly little yellow Mister Smarties man

That little "TinyPic" fella at the top of the page is really beginning to bug me know. Couldn't they at least make him smile. He makes me so miserable. wink

Did anyone else have a problem connecting to the board last night. I kept getting an error message.
