Solid win for Naomi, nothing more than we expect these days, again another player who really performs on the bigger stage. It would be great to have 5 !! players in the MD.

 6 would be even better

But not possible unless I have my arithmetic wrong !

Andy, Kyle, James, Heather, Johanna, Naomi and Katie would be 7

As Naomi played, I updated the thing. (Probably need to revise the future format if it's to continue, given the number of matches and increasing clutter.)
What a difference (less than) a week makes!

brendan, phil was talking about the women's only - where Laura Robson is already there, in addition to Watson and Konta. So we could have 8 across both tournaments.

Ah, I remember the days when we were ecstatic with a combined total of one!

evidently, but there was no way of knowing that based on his original post - he just used the term players so it was easy to imagine he meant both men and women

This is the women discussion section; therefore reasonable approach for phil to have taken

Leave the office with Katie looking down and out and just home to find a complete turn around.

How wrong I was....

Great result. Whether she can do it again is another question. When you have such a big win, it is very difficult to come back to reality and re-focus.

Excellent win for Naomi.

Qualifiers spots for the most part look very favourable, for a Premier Mandatory.

One all Qualifier tie
Carina Witthoeft
Vania King
Irina Falconi
Coco Vandeweghe
Bethanie Mattek-Sands
(WC) Paula Badosa-Gibert
Irina Camelia Begu
(WC) Naomi Osaka
Timea Babos
Saisai Zheng

Not exactly easy, but considering it could just as easily have been, McHale, Garcia, Cornet, Giorgi, Hev, Goerges, Kasatkina, Genie, Strycova!
Now 'we' just need to get there!

No points for these matches though? Unless they qualify?
