Fantastic set. Vika took her chance, Jo couldn't take hers.
Jo played really well, and probably had the better of most of the set.
Certainly not outclassed against the best player of the year so far.

Pity, but an enjoyable set, stick in Jo. You're the crowd's ( such as it is ) favourite.

If you look at the statistics Jo was ahead in almost every aspect. The difference came down to Azarenka converting one break point out of three against Jo zero out of four.

Just those biggest of the big points the difference, and where Vika is surpassingly brilliant.

First serve in % dropped into the 60s which must have been some drop off considering how she started. It hadn't struck me that it has gone so off. Needs to get that back up.

I think Marion Bartoli is the best technical/tactical co-commentator not just in tennis, but in any sport.

Popular internet rumour gives her an IQ of 175, which is 4 standard deviations above average, so more intelligent than approximately 999 people out of 1,000: and probably higher than Andrew Castle and John Llloyd's IQ scores, added together.

She would make a superb coach.

Jo struggling with timing and focus a little in the second. Azarenka playing well enough to run away with the match now.
