3 GB singles players on court in the second week of Miami all on the same day - unheard of....
I thought Vesnina was excellent and really gave Jo a run for her money and she will break back into the top 50 quite quickly. Jo came through due to the big serving and the very consistent backhands.
The standard of the women's game at the top level is very inconsistent. Seeds are falling all over the place and anyone who has a decent few weeks will fly up the rankings. Only Azarenka seems to be consistent enough to climb up the rankings.
I'm suprised the likes of Bencic, Venus Williams, Safarova, Ivanovic and Kusnetsova are still in the top 20. It shows the lack of depth in the women's game at the top level. Also Sharapova and Pennetta will come out of the rankings fairly quickly.
I'd expect Heather, Vesnina and quite a few lesser players(Kastakina, Friedsham, Flipkens etc) to climb the rankings quite quickly

Bencic had a very good second half of last year and that's why she's ranked where she is.
She's so young at some point she was going to level out before she climbs up again.
Some of the women who rose up 2 years or so ago are now in free fall. Loosing all over the place. It comes from this hit a winner at all costs method. SOme times you'll go through a bad patch.
Look at Kerber though. Hasn't been able to deal with being the Aus open champion. Right now the top 3 are Serena, Azarenka and Radwanska. If Kerber and or Muguruza have a good week in Miami they are probably the top 5.
The womens game has never been less predictable, in some ways that's good, in others its bad. It reminds me of the mens game circa 2000-2003 ish when Safin, Hewitt were winning GS but couldn't quite dominate totally for long enough until Federer came along
I watched Jo's match against Niculescu live at Nottingham last year, and she handled all the slices very well, so I expect a vastly improved Jo to take it, assuming she's come out of yesterday's long match in decent shape. I'd like to see Hev take a set off Halep on current form, anything more would be simply sensational.

In truth, other than Serena, the women's game has been very unpredictable for quite a number of years now. Players come up, go down, but a real lack of consistency though Vika has been unlucky with injuries. But yes, Serena maybe starting to go over the top ( says he hesitatingly ) makes things very intriguing. Opportunities beckon, who can step up?
It's sad as if all the women played well most of the time things would be fine but they play 1/2 tournaments a year well. The exceptions being Serena, Radwanska and Azarenka now she seems to be fully fit.
The womens tour has all the makings of something exciting but it just hasn't clicked really since Henin retired. We've had some random good bits like Clijsters comeback. Some good GS winners that were great stories like Bartoli but then dreadful winners like Schiavone and Stosur.

You would have thought Halep would be the next in line, but gone a little inconsistent over last 12 months.
Kvitova is struggling with her illness, Kerber could be the next on the block if she can get over her fame. The Spanish girls - steady, but are they good enough?
Ivanovic, Wozza, Venus, Jankovic, Stosur all been at top and never sustained it
Sloane, Bouchard and Keys have been hyped up and never really pushed on
Hev on court, lots of rain and thunder forecast over the next 5 hours or so.
Let's hope Hev has some lightning bolts of her own.
Hev with support strapping on her left thigh - doesn't look too heavy, more precautionary.
Halep called Darren Cahill down, and after that she won 5 straight games. The set was, coincidentally, completely different after that. Not only did he manage to buck his charge up, somehow he managed to wilt Heather too!
Halep looking interested again, Heather seemed to drain and that was that. The aggregate of both things happening, Halep going up a gear or two, and heather down the same amount saw the set speed away.
Need a reset, because Heather started really nicely, and if she can refind that, she can still compete here.
