Good to have you back ISF!
I have no idea about most of the different things you tried - it's all a foreign language to me!!

Welcome back, ISF. Lovely to have you with us again - and thank you for posting all the information about the rather stunningly impregnable site.

Relieved to discover that ISF, a highly valued member with helpful, scientific contributions, is back. As one of the other moderators frequently banning kitchen spammers I often wonder what would happen if I inadvertently banned a legitimate user, so it's good to know that there is a way to solve the problem if it does happen, though more difficult than it probably should be.

Thank **** for that. That's a weight off my shoulders.

As I said in the chat section I'm so used to banning the IP (and then deleting the post) when a post gets flagged for spam, I just did it on auto-pilot without even thinking.

Many, many apologies ISF. And thank you so much to Steven for his help and for Sheddie for sorting it out. I feel bad going to Steven for help as I imagine everyone does the same when something needs sorting, but you just know he is the best and only person to go to.

That's ok - mistakes happen (and Activeboard's setup makes some of them happen far too easily!) and you did all the right things - reporting it quickly, getting in touch on Twitter as well as posting here and finding the relevant IP address. I don't even think everyone does go to me (or if they do, not enough goes wrong here for it to become a pain!), I know of situations where other mods have been contacted and I can always pass a query onto somebody else if I'm snowed under, so don't worry.

Not needed, perfectly understandable

Wholeheartedly endorsed.
We're stupidly lucky to have him.

I was wondering where ISF was. I couldn't find his profile in the user list and when I finally found it, it said status: deleted.

It wasn't me this time I promise...

No, you were not alone, there was apparently a general activeboard problem denying us all access.

I looked on the twitter but didn't see anything before I went out - cheers for that smile
