I also saw that young Potapova(14yrd old JW 15) only got as far as the FQR where she bumped into another top junior from last season in Koldziejova

 A quick search shows that there were 47 registered Samways births in England & Wales in 1998 including Chelsea. Vinny Samways played for Las Palmas between 1996 and 2002 so is unlikely to be Chelsea's father

Indeed, that is a convincing argument about the balance of probability. Thank you for taking the time. 
I also bow to your search skills, as I spent a good deal of time not really getting anywhere. Your logical starting point to address the question, and general approach achieved far more in a 'quick search' than all of my floundering about!
