It's a flawed format the first set is an irrelevance, it is one set tennis tiebreaker decides, but I suppose it's the only way of getting doubles into tournaments outside the GS
That's a good win. A hell of a lot better than it looks on paper
In all fairness Tiafoe choked/crumbled and couldn't buy a first serve to save his life at the end and practically gave it away, though to be fair to Bedene he was the more solid from the few minutes I saw and used his experience. From what I gather Tiafoe has done this before.
Yes, he had a match point against David Goffin last week.
In fairness, Alexander Zverev did the same against Rafael Nadal. Must be quite overwhelming suddenly to be in a position to win against some of the best players.
And they have time. Overall Mr Tiafoe's not doing too badly for someone in his last year of junior eligibility And on this occasion, it's rather handy that he's not quite there yet.
Granollers it is after the Spaniard thrashed Dodig 0 and 1.
Hopefully Aljaz's early morning Skype appeal (seriously, what the hell is wrong with the ITF?) won't hinder his preparation too much!
I've watched a bit of Bedene this week and the one thing I have noticed is that he switches off occasionally and makes things difficult for himself. He does have gears though, which is a sign of a good player.
