You wait 11 years for one and then ... (except the second 'bus' within two months hasn't come along yet!)
Three Brits in Challenger singles finals in the same week is also still on, but is going to be a very tough ask, obviously.
Ed's reaction to dropping all those points from the Gatineau Futures last year has been pretty impressive, even if 33 of the points could have been 0 if there hasn't been enough withdrawals here!

What a run for Mr Corrie. Fantastic stuff. And well done to the doubles pairing ... and to Mr Evans, whose place was expected - but then since assorted lucky losers and prodigies have ensured that no other seeds have made it through, expectations shouldn't be taken for granted.
Mr Glasspool will almost certainly enter the very high 200s in the doubles rankings next week; if he and Mr Evans were to win the tournament, he'd be approaching 250. Given that he's defending nothing before June and so, barring misfortune, would have the opportunity to improve yet further, some grass season doubles WCs might well be in order.

Terrific news all round to wake up to. I stopped watching Ed's match at 4-3 in the first set as it looked like being a long match and I am such a lightweight when it comes to late nights. Congrats to Ed for his win and for (hopefully) boosting our Top 500 numbers again. Ed only has 51 more points to defend for the whole of 2016 and with his points from here and last week, he has already covered 44 of those points. Here's hoping he can stay fit and get a full season in this year.
Much as I hate split loyalties, wouldn't it be great to have ANOTHER all GB final in an overseas Challenger.
