I didn't like to say anything, because it seems a bit impolite for a new user to come along and tell you all that you're doing your board wrong, but as it's being discussed I find it off-putting too.
Think it is formally described as 128 draw as there are 128 slots on the draw sheet, but you're right, only 96 of them are filled as the seeds get a first round bye.
Has Indian Wells always been a 128 draw? It's getting more like a grand slam each year. Would love to leave rain swept Britain and visit it one year.
I think Indian Wells is regarded as the unofficial fifth grand slam because of the size of the draw (128 slots, 96 players & the 32 seeds all getting a bye into the second round) & the fact that it unfolds over more than eight days. That said, the same applies to the Miami Masters, so maybe I'm getting confused...
Now 5*-6, just had 30-all on Pella's serve. He's playing some lovely stuff, great point construction and clearly belongs at this level. Just needs to cut out a few sloppy errors.
4-0 Kedders. Pulling Pella all over the place at times and finding the lines and corners.
4*-1...
5*-1...
6-1*...
6-2*, ace from Pella
6-3, poor drop shot attempt from Kyle fails to clear the net
But a BH well into the tramlines from Pella and it's the first set to Kyle!
