Heather has of course played Niculescu this season already in Hobart. Heather didn't play great that time, but got use to the Romanian's tricky game and managed to just about close it out. Should she get through that, her likely opponent would be Radwanska and Heather has beaten her before and she did look a little ordinary at the Aussie Open this year. I certainly would give her at least a reasonable chance of defending all of the points from 2015.
This is going to sound a bit random, but if you look at the livescore on the WTA website and go to Laura and Rybarikova's head to head, her picture (particularly her eyes) looks REALLY weird. The images on that thing are pretty poor for everyone but it has been particularly harsh on Laura.
Live WTA Tennis: Indian Wells: 2016 BNP Paribas Open: Day Two
Episode 6
Duration: 10hrs
Day two of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells. Matches include Laura Robson v Magdalena Rybarikova, Julia Goerges v Camila Giorgi and Caroline Garcia v Christina McHale.
Good news - the match on Stadium 4 when I checked yesterday wasn't being streamed, but this sounds much more promising.
Lauren Davis is in the first match too and she plays the sort of style that could make her match last to the end of Liverpool v Man Utd with a bit of luck.
