RE: Week 10 - WTA Premier ($6.1M) - Indian Wells, USA Hard

Brengle was awful, but Jo was very good, not quite in Oz open form but better than in Mexico.

Disappointing for Hev as her best tennis was simply a delight to watch, just couldn't complete the job, made to pay for her slow start to the match.

One more win and Jo overtakes Wozniacki in the rankings; who'd have thought that a year ago?!

Draw has certainly opened up. Great chance for JoKo to get another big scorer on the board.

Apparently Aga now plays this shot every match; this one too!

UK 18:00 for Johanna tomorrow
(I think that correctly accounts for Californian Daylight Savings which occurs today, well, yesterday, well, about right now, actually!)

Perhaps our obsession with GB stats (in fact, maybe its just me, well, and steven, but that goes without saying ; apologies for that if so!), and Jo being the first Brit since [Date] to do [Achievement] is starting to affect the WTA.

They've started pre-empting us! This from the latest WTA Insider report:

Jo Konta has a chance to move into the Top 25 on Monday: Depending on other results, the Australian Open semifinalist will likely need to reach the round of 16 at the very least; she plays Denisa Allertova in the third round on Monday. Konta would first British woman in Top 25 since the week of March 15, 1987, when Jo Durie held the No.24 ranking spot; the last time a Brit was ranked in the Top 20 was nearly 30 years ago (week of October 13, 1986; Jo Durie, No.20)

Good to know

R5LSX have full commentary (Russell Fuller, Gigi Salmon & Corina Morariu) of Jo & Andy, if anyone is unable to get visuals.

Thanks.  I've only got a small screen at the moment so I'll try the commentary.   Does Jo look a bit sunburnt or flushed  do you think ?

Only lightly broiled

Bit scratchy at the start, but thereafter pretty good, solid set there from Jo. 6-4

Karolina Pliskova awaits the winner, having just thumped Ivanovic, 2 & 0.
