I would say that if Andy plays then he definitely should not play doubles. I would let Dan go play in Washington with clay being much more in Kyle's wheelhouse and leave the doubles to Dom and Jamie. Good chance Andy would then only have to play 1 match which might not be too taxing as he is not planning to play the following week.

My source (whose name I am not at liberty to reveal ) tells me that Evo will definitely travel to Washington if Andy plays. Can't comment on the doubles plans though.

Good. As long as Andy plays Evo should not be hanging round as the 5th man or "hitting partner". Given that it is clay maybe Alex Ward would be a good shout for that role.
I don't feel like Dan should ever have been involved in the first place to be honest. He is definitely part of the GB Davis Cup 'team' as a whole but I don't really see the point in him being around on clay. Of course that said I trust Leon's decisions wholeheartedly. Would have liked to see Alex Ward there rather than James purely as I'm desperate to see James claw his way to some points for himself!
I honestly think Andy should celebrate and rest up.
He has the Olympics, he has a realistic chance of for the first time reaching world #1, possibly this year ( and he's now only 815 points behind Novak in the race ) and if not it certainly looks like he will have an ongoing good shot through to and including Miami next year ( I would hope Indian Wells and Miami go much for him next year ).
He owes the country nothing in that he has given so much, again including today, and in playing earlier against Japan is again largely responsible for us having secured a World Group place for 2017.
I agree with you Indi. But he is also fiercely loyal, particularly to Leon. I suspect he will be on the plane tomorrow. But if he takes a week or so off, nobody should complain as he has paid his dues - and then some.
All of the players named have been part of the winning DC team so for me, it's not essential to win it more than once. We still have a chance next year in the World Group. I hope Andy doesn't play and gives himself a rest. I'd prefer another Olympic medal, another slam and extra DC practice for someone else. Jamie might be a bit disappointed though.
But it's also another great opportunity, without Novak in the mix, so a real tough decision.
Yes it's a good opportunity but a first Davis Cup was something special, especially win the biggest prizes were alluding Andy. A second Davis Cup is of significantly less importance, especially with the prospect of winning more slams or finally making it to No1.
