Is the wind affecting her serve do you think?

Not too sure exactly what the rule is, but JoKo is consistently stepping back across the centre line when serving into the deuce court.

Now back on serve, leading 5-4*.

That noise she makes would get on my 'wick' (No doubt that has been said before).

And takes the set 7-6 (6). Serve mis-firing and both players struggling in the conditions.

Trying to watch multiple sports at once, But what I've seen looks really scrappy. Serves are struggling and lots of unforced errors.

Good win, but 22 DFs in two sets between them.

Good win in very tricky conditions. Jo was 3-5* down in the second

Well done Jo . Mental steadiness in the later stages of the match got her the win IMO.

It is great how she just gets on with things. The wind was a bit tricky in her first match and she said nothing you can do about it so just get on with it.

Seems to just be prepared to get the job done on occasions. Remarkably she is becoming almost a great example mentally.

Jo will pass Pavlyuchenkova in the rankings and can't now be overtaken this week so will be at least back to her CH 26.

She'd pass Keys and Petkovic if and only if she won the tournament. Could possibly overtake Wozniacki if Caro doesn't make the final here ( err, edited from "in Kuala Lumper", I'd been keeping an eye on Lisicki there, now no longer a rankings threat to Jo this week, and confuddled myself ).

Now into the 1900s in points, on 1928. The final this week would also bring her into the 21st century. Hopefully that's coming and more whatever.

Great news - I was out most of the evening, so I'm really pleased to see the result!
Hope Heather can do well later too.
