Great win for Heather. Such an incredible finals record (I know it's only three, but they're never easy opponents at that stage) and now more or less back to where she was at the end of 2015.
A reasonably big haul of points to defend at Indian Wells and a few at Miami (although only one victory will increase her points) but then hardly anything until Rome in mid May. COuld put herself into a good position for the summer.
When Hev beats Hercog or Jo beats Wickmayer, they go on to win the title 100% of the time!!!!!!!!!!

Part of this lives on! Well done that girl.
Polona, can we play you every week? Pretty please?
On another note, Hev beat a higher ranked opponent in every single round.
Shout out to Flipper who's comes across as a great human being, she spent some time with a group of our junior coaches in Budapest last year, a credit to her profession.

Well said. Sometimes she even gives her best mate, and sometime coach, Kim a run for her money in the loveliness stakes.
And on Mummy Watson, I'm always struck each year when Heather wishes her happy birthday, how many, diverse and disparate players chip in to send best wishes too. They all love her on Tour
Average Player beaten by Heather this week was ranked 53.6, compared to 50 for her Hobart title and 90.2 for her Osaka title, so a decent set of competitors.
And, a mention for Coach Veronelli, who must be sitting somewhere in Argentina with a well deserved and satisfied smile. His former charge did him proud.
There's a lot of the good groundwork that he laid in today's win, and which will surely continue to reap rewards long into the future. He seemed to be generally a very good relationship for Heather at a difficult time in her career, and I think he can be allowed a small fraction of this one.
Thank you Diego.
