More competitive second sets. Lisa always behind, but as jaggy says had a BP to get back to *4-4. Katy was twice a break up, then 4-5* 0-40* down, saved these 3 MPs but not a 4th. Overall both look just outdone on the day.

Glad Lisa got a few more points this week she could have went for the easier option and did the Sharm thing hopefully playing at this level will help in the coming weeks. Not too sure if Katy will push on seems to be stuck in this ranking bracket for couple of years now like Amanda.

Katy though in the short term should push back into the 200s. After 5 points coming off this coming Monday, more than covered by this week's 9 points, she has nothing to defend until her Wimbledon QR2 20 points. It was a very lean period last year. Hopefully she can get quite a few wins during this pretty big 'window', get that ranking up to potentially help some later draws and gain more confidence.

Freya too has an extended period of nothing to defend. After 4 points due off on 21/03 and 2 points due off on 04/04, due to injury last year, she has nothing further to defend until August, so an even bigger window and great chance to get into that top 300.

High time we had more than the current 'big 3' in the top 300.

Actually re little to defend, Lisa too has nothing to defend until August and will rise about 100 places to probably just inside the top 650 as a result of this week's 10 points. May she stay fit and continue to add wins and points to keep on rising.

To be a top player and break through at 25k level, you need to be comfortable behind your service game I.e not get broken too regularly.

This is something that Katy, Lisa and the likes of Tara are struggling with.

Katy and Lisa are staying for the clay in Aus. Freya is on her way back for some hard training.
