Just two seeds left, both in the top half.

Lisa must have the best chance to progress into QF

Tough going so far though for our representatives down under.
Freya, 4-6 *1-0
Lisa 0-6

Freya strikes back to take the second set; Lisa also digging in in her second set!
Freya 4-6 6-3
Lisa 0-6 5-2*

And Lisa closes out the set to also force the decider
Freya 4-6 6-3 *1-1
Lisa 0-6 6-3

Wow, now ISF just has to turn up and our matches completely turn around and less of this dropping sets business.

Both matches into final sets.

Freya 4-6 6-3 *1-1

Lisa 0-6 6-3 0-0*

... as just noted.

Ha!
So long as I don't watch, apparently.
I couldn't watch either Jo or Heather earlier, or get the stream for this to work. So maybe that's the key!

I'm prepared to make that sacrifice!

Urk! A turn for the worse, in both matches.
Freya 4-6 6-3 2-3*
Lisa 0-6 6-3 0-2*

Yeah... both girls decided they weren't having any of that nonsense, and so just hit back immediately.
Freya 4-6 6-3 *3-3
Lisa 0-6 6-3 2-2*

A mammoth of a game 5 of the final set in Lisa's match; finally her opponent holds after (I think) seven deuces. Lisa had multiple BP's.
Freya must break to remain alive, having been to, at least, deuce in each of her opponents last 2 services.
Freya 4-6 6-3 4-5*
Lisa 0-6 6-3 *2-3

Close match for Freya, but she goes down
4-6 6-3 4-6

Lisa in a nail biter
0-6 6-3 3-3*

Katy is next on Freya's court.

Lisa's match is 2½ hours in and after the first set blowout, it's been a slugfest all the way; every game seems to take forever, deuce after deuce.
Lisa just earned the chance to finish it though, after another epic game. Come on!
Katy, meanwhile, just getting started.
Lisa
0-6 6-3 *5-4
Katy 2-1*

Oh, Yes, Lisa!
Completes the fantastic comeback. Despite having had to swallow that first set bagel, she finishes with more points in the match.
GSM Whybourn 0-6 6-3 6-4

So can Katy join Lisa in the QF?
Ozgen had the break. Not any more.
*4-4

Katy has the first set
6-4

Lisa is having an excellent week, but I would really like Katy to turn that potential into points.

Keep an eye out for young Jaimee Fourlis who is just 16. Won the 25k in Perth and into QF.(she beat Ema Lazic in Aus Juniors)

Some pressure from Ozgen, but still no breaks in the second set, 6-4 3-2*

The Turkish threat had been growing and it breaks through again. Last time that happened, Katy returned the favour immediately. Can she repeat the trick?
6-4 3-4*

Yes, she can!
6-4 *4-4

Deuce on the Ozgen serve, just two points away...
Here's a MP...
Rejected!
On we go.
6-4 5-4*
