Three rounds again, but not a bad draw for Lisa and a good chance to qualify.

I'd expect Lisa to come through against Palha from India

Meanwhile Freya has drawn the second seed from UZB and Katy the third seed, Reix

just to clarify, against Alexandra Walters, and is now into FQR against Natasha Palha, 7th seed.

As said on the Kaohsiung thread a couple of weeks back, Reix is in pretty poor form - the start of the year has been really tough (although she made a few QFs in 25ks last autumn).

Emily WS lost 5-7 5-7 against her.

Still not the nicest draw for Katy, obviously.

Freya's opponent, the second seed from UZB, is the player that katy lost to in that really tight match last week.

Keep going Lisa; a couple of Q v Q slots in R1 so fingers crossed Lisa gets luckier than of late and can have a decent trot here :)

Indeed yet been so competitive and come out not too bad so far, but yes better draws and she might really have had an even better trip ranking pointswise. I hadn't really picked up how consistently bad they'ed been.

That's the third time out of four she's drawn the second seed in R1 ( stands 1 match all and 3 sets to 2 up against two players in the top 200 ). And last week met the third seed in R2 after Naiktha Bains in R1.

Hope she is at least very competitive again and better still gets through a round or two.

They've been playing for 34 minutes in the final round of qualifying and it's still 2-1 in the first set. RIDICULOUS number of points in each game!!

36 minutes in and Palha gets the break on her 6th try... 3-1 to Palha.

The girls earn their second sit down after 44 minutes... Unfortunately Whybourn now 4-1 down, despite having 8 break points so far.
