[2] I think that's probably correct - there wasn't a hint of a final between two Brits when I did the research back to 1978 yesterday and I've since checked the other members of the GB top 5 from around that time.

Naomi saves a bp with an unreturned 2nd serve 1-0*

Lisicki saves a bp with a stunning forehand after her serve. Naomi played some super tennis in that game, as did Lisicki 1-1

Naomi holds to 15 thanks to unreturned serves 2-1*

Lisicki holds from 15-30 thanks to Naomi's inability to return serves *2-2

Naomi with a rare ace and 2 unreturned serves as she holds to love 3-2*

Lisicki with a stunning forehand return winner off a decent first serve gets bp but Naomi saves it with a smash after a good serve *4-3

Shocking game from Naomi to get broken. 2 dfs and a poor backhand into the net. Lisicki won one point with a brutal 2nd serve return winner. Naomi really gave that away 4-5*

 The rot apparently started in the previous game, deuce, when two successive dubious Lisicki first serves were called in, the first on an overrule from the umpire on the centre line call. Naomi was always going to serve a couple of DFs after that. She does let emotion interfere.
