Woohoo! A wee break does wonders. Serve was on fire in the final set.

So important. That's her first win in a WTA tournament where she's been in the MD by virtue of her new ranking, isn't it. If so, absolutely vital for confirming the feeling that she really belongs.

I saw a few points of Zhaoxuan Yang's win over Saisai Zheng. When I stopped watching, Saisai Zheng was leading by a set and had just broken for *3-2 in the 2nd set, having seen Zhaoxuan Yang save numerous bps that game. When I looked to see the final score I was surprised to say the least. It was your standard Saisai Zheng match in which she largely keeps the ball in play while her opponent struggles to find a way to blast the ball past her. I guess Zhaoxuan Yang must have figured it out during the changeover as I turned my computer off.

Another good win for Naomi. Still hoping she can get her first serve percentage up a bit and find a way to win more 2nd serve points.
