Bouchard is clearly having a great run of form herself so I'm not too down-hearted by that loss; yes it was not a good returning day for Naomi (albeit with the occasional flashing winner) but it's been a terrific week and she gets an extra day to get to IW :)
Not going to IW (wimbledont posts on the Naomi thread); probably wise after this week's exertions; Miami will come around soon enough :)
Naomi's down for ( or certainly was ) the San Antonio WTA 125 in the second week of IW. That sounds a good plan assuming her body is good to go then.
What's also not apparent from that list is that, as she has risen into the top 100 recently, from the ITF, this means she's had to play a lot more matches per tournament than most of the rest to acquire comparable points; both in ITF and in WTA qualifying rounds.
On the plus side, I think it must help that she generally plays a lot of very short points; so she may now be able to continue her WTA career well into her 30s; long after the scurriers' and hurriers' legs give up on them.
Naomi 'top' and she certainly plays in competition lots. Interesting that no-one has less counters than Sharapova and Azarenka with 15 each. Overall good fitness record in the top 100.
Tournaments played and counters are slightly different. 4 slams and 4 mandatory events boost the numbers regardless of whether the player was involved or not.
Going back to Naomi's scheduling, I think what can be a sensible approach for a player ranked 115 - 199, for financial reasons as much as anything else, may not be as appropriate for someone with a ranking that gives them direct entry into the slams. I would expect Naomi to adjust her schedule slightly over the course of the year so that she reduces the risk of being burned-out at Grand Slam time. Unless she is in desperate need of the points, I can't see her repeating last year's post Luxembourg schedule of Macon, Waco, Scottsdale and Carlsbad; which earned her a total of 46 points, with a max score of 15 and $6K in prize money (singles and doubles).

I think that Naomi was treating all of those tournaments in late 2015 as AO qualifiers - if she had won one of them, she could have made the AO main draw cut-off.
In general, I think most players should be aiming to play about 30% of the time as seeds in weaker grades, 40% in MD, 30% in qualifying in stronger grades.
