Ha!

Well, rot stopped!
That looks like an embryonic romping to me!
6-4 0-6 1-0*

Hev can write a new history now, by romping to victory! Romp, Hev, romp!
6-4 0-6

If the English/Spanish double meaning wasn't intended (romper in Spanish = to break), it's a nice coincidence! wink

Digs herself out of a *0-30 shaped hole with some brave attacking shot selections and solid serving.
6-4 0-6 2-1*

Holds to love.
Not even 2 hours in, this is brisk for the middle of the decider in a Hev 3 setter.
6-4 0-6 3-2*

Comfortable holds.
Time for more romping, Heather. Though McHale speaks fluent Spanish (and bonus fact, Mandarin), so would understand the instruction very well.
6-4 0-6 4-3*

Well, I'm finding this unbearably tense!
Crucial games now, Heather needs this match at the very least or she'll have to start qualifying in Internationals.
6-4 0-6 *4-4

Another *0-30 hole, turns into the first BP's in quite a while, and McHale has them
*15-40
I.. I... don't know what to say. It seemed inevitable in some horrible way.
6-4 0-6 4-5*

Any of the old Hev magic left? Please?

15-0*, 15-15*, 30-15*, 40-15*
Come on Heather you can do this - some shots she looks great, others, all at sea, if it all clicks together some day, she's going to fly.
Ugh! Deuce
McHale skirting the back wall in deep defence, prevails.
MP down
Saved!
Sets up another BP with a nice FH winner.
Gone. Deuce - already feels like the millionth deuce.
McHale long, and a fourth BP of the game...
Hev routine FH called long on the baseline
Deuce 1,000,001
Long rally, Hev changes the angle, brave FH DTL winner!
BP #5!
Runs around a FH for another winner!!!
YES! We are still alive.
Concentrate now, don't throw it away!
6-4 0-6 *5-5

Nooooo! I said concentrate! *15-40
*30-40
Good first serve in to the corner, return ballooned long... oh look, it's.. deuce... again!
Another good FH DTL winner, this time on the short side, Adv Hev
it looked a bit lucky, or it was an incredible angle, either way it was a winner, and this might be the old Hev Houdini trick circa 2011 after all!
6-4 0-6 6-5*

Chrissy, I really admire you, and all the work you do for minorities and veterans, but could you please serve 8 faults in a row? Thanks.

Hooray!
The tension wasn't bad enough, let's have a tie-break to really ratchet it up!

*0-0
0-1*
0-2*
*0-3 UE long
*0-4 bad snatch at the net on an easy put away
0-5* random comment about the tennis when all you want to say is aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
1-5* Change of ends = change of fortunes? Nope, another UE
*1-6 paging Dr. Lazarus...
Wide and very long

When Hev & McHale play, the first rule is: DON'T WIN THE FIRST SET!

Losing close matches to Larsson, Babos, Van Uytvanck and now McHale doesn't suggest great things about heather's mental game at the moment

Is it just my imagination or is Heather particularly bad in third set tiebreakers, in comparison to first or second set tiebreakers? I remember her losing one 7-0 recently and now a 7-1... What a shame after such a fight though with a score line of 110pts to 91pts she really had no business being in a third set tiebreak in the first place!! 😆
