A couple of close games where she missed break points aside, this was very one sided. A double fault on her only game point in the second set sums her day up.
Over and out 63 60.
Hopefully doubles gives her something to smile about. Singles continues to be rough going. Sad stuff

Increasingly it seems to me that Emily's tournament choices are much more about doubles than singles, competing more often in higher level tournaments, but still say competing in singles qualifying at these.
Why does she still play singles? I would imagine because she really enjoys doing so and simply wants to. Defeats may lessen that in time, but clearly up to her.
I guess there is an argument for at least trying to establish a really regular doubles partnership, which could rather curtail her singles unless a very benevolent partner.
The doubles prize money is less than 1/4 that of singles, split between two = 1/8 = impossible to pay the bills unless you are regularly playing WTAs, or at least consistently making nearly every final at ITF 25k+ tournaments.
They had righted the ship, and looked to be steering it in to safe harbour, but blew their match point. Hope this doesn't leave them all at sea! 6-1 5-4*
