Victory for Dan C winning 6-4 in the 3rd.

Marzi lost the 2nd set but is up *3-1 in his decider.

Two MPs for Marzi on the final Cagnina service game, but the Belgian hangs on. We are into another 3rd set breaker. After what happened to Evan in Egypt, I can't take much more of this stress.

With all that going on, Luke has taken the 1st set 6-3 against Neil.

Bambo a set up, match was interrupted just on their court for 5-10 minutes. Wonder why?!

Squaky culo time for Marzi, as Bob would say.

Squeaky culo time it was, but this time with a better result as Marzi takes out the Italian 7-5 in that 3rd set breaker. Phew.

That's a terrific win against a player ranked in the 250s just 6 months ago.

Forgot to mention, that Dubarenco is a very good player. Definitely on the up.

I'd expect us to get at least 3 through, if not 4.

it's been a shame this hasn't been like the previous couple of years when we just effectively shared the points about!

He may very well be, but he is a set down to the Swedish qualifier that put an end to Dan Smethurst's hopes yesterday. Perhaps puts a bit more perspective on Dan's defeat.

It will either be an medical time out or a mopping up exercise - it's raining and there may be water dripping down.

They had to switch one of the courts at Wirral yesterday due to a leak.

It's looking a distinct possibility that I will be at Shrewsbury rather than Wirral on Saturday, if the Brits keep going well.

I am going for a SF line up of

Luke v Ed
Dan C v Liam

Here's hoping for an all GB line up, whoever makes it.

A very tight 2nd set but Luke seals the win over Neil 6-3 7-6(2)

Liam is a break down in the opener though at 5-6*

...... but Liam breaks straight back (for the 2nd time in the set) and we have a TB.

Windahl, the Swedish qualifier, went on to beat Dubarenco in straight sets.
