Very nice wins indeed for Mr Cox and Mr Corrie - and, indeed, for Mr Marsalek. All best to them tomorrow.
And agree - well done Mr Gray and Mr Sterland-Markovic. They will play the final against the excellent team of Messrs Corrie and Smethurst, who defeated Messrs Broady and Bambridge 6-4 6-1.
So Liam wins a 10k coming through qualies, after a tough period for him, he then reaches quarters this week, and then has an off day, I would say thats a pretty decent return, unless I'm missing something. I would say thats a major step in the right direction, but maybe I'm biased or just a poor interpretator of results.
Disappointing for Bambo, but he is still heading in the right direction.
And Coxy showing once again his class, if he was able/prepared to finance his pro career he would perennially be inside the top 250.
I'm sorry but to me Liam has been disappointing against the standards he had very encouragingly set for now quite some time.
That looks a very poor result today ( one day though it may be ) and I don't see the Glasgow 10K title and QF here as giving me any particular confidence that he is again heading in the right direction, though it is good that he has got in more matches and wins. But I do hope he does start truly doing so soon. As yet, "major step" - just no IMO.

And great to see Ed back to near his best, had a terrible time with his back, and had to remodel his serve to cater for that, but it looks like all the rehab is bearing fruition, so great stuff.
All the best Ed indeed. I didn't know about all that, thanks Phil.

Fair enough, our views clearly differ, I think winning a 10k is pretty impressive after whats been a difficult period for Liam. I expect Liam to only get stronger from here, he's a class above 10k level if near to his best, but winning matches is very important for confidence, so to me its a step in the right direction.
Just looking at Luke's website (www.lukebambridgetennis.co.uk), it would appear that both he & Liam haven't been very well for a couple of days which might account partly for today's results.

Thanks TDK, does look as if there were certainly mitigating companies circumstances there for Liam and Luke.
Still, far from convinced about Liam in the short term, but after the relative step forward in Glasgow, maybe indeed not such a step back again. Pity for them.

I haven't seen Marzi for some time - probably Wrexham when he beat Harry Meehan a couple of years ago, but his results seem to have come on somewhat in the last 12 months.
Into a tight tie break
