RE: Week 7 - ITF($10k) - The Wirral, UK (Hard)

Lauryn is playing really well. Well on top, won the first set 6-0. Georgie a bit error strewn.

Big delay in Megan's match as she has just thrown up at the back of the court.

Presumably that means Laura D (who had a main draw WC on the original list) and Emily A both got in direct (?)

Lauryn won easily, it might have been double bagel
Megan has just taken the first set tie break. Excellent match.
Emma H won
Older Pitak won

Tx, paulisi.

Hope Megan's OK.

I've seen Georgie twice and thought she's very small and slight, and no great speed of arm to make up for it, although with quite good ball skills. I honestly couldn't see her tennis going anywhere but got the feeling that she had a lot of support (both official and family). She plays a better game of doubles, in my view, than singles.

Only seen Lauryn once and she played a crazy game - bit of everything (lots of sudden 'surprise' rushes to the net) - don't quite know where her head was that time - but she had some exciting skills and was a good athlete - I enjoyed watching her (although it was frustrating!).

Glad to hear that young Olivia at least put up a bit of a fight.

See that Lisa got bagelled too.

Big win for Megan - cracking match.
Louise Holtum up a break on Savannah. I was impressed at Shrewsbury with Louise and definitely one with potential to get a ranking.

Anna Popescu struggling.
Holly and Aimee on serve.

Louise is the Loughborough girl, isn't she? Has she graduated now? Wonder what her plans are?

Well done, Megan !!!!! That's a win against a player ranked WTA 1286

Louise and Savannah tight second set.

Eden about to win.
Savannah a break up in the third.
Sabrina up a break early on Molly - last time I saw her she had the yips. She looks like she can play.
Chloe struggling against Hannah early on.

Brilliant to hear the updates.

Sabrina's time in the US must have been of great benefit, not surprised she's improved (NB I think that team tennis really helps with the yips - and lots of other things - which the British players tend to miss out on, as they play such little team tennis).

I like Eden's game. And her opponent is top 1000 - so that would be a lovely win.

What did Sabrina do in the US?

Am I completely wrong? I thought Sabrina had had a stint over there.

But you know the US inside out and so I must have got the wrong end of the stick completely.

Sorry - no idea why I got that into my head .....

NB See that Eden wrapped up her very nice win.

But that Savannah came through 6-3 in the end against Louise.

Anna P lost

Holly Hutchinson def. Aimee 3&2
