RE: Week 7 - ITF($10k) - The Wirral, UK (Hard)

Ms Arbuthnott's doubles prowess must be something of interest for the longer term, whatever the imminent result. She's got quite a lot of titles for someone of her age who plays occasional tournaments.

Beth and Olivia won. Harriet a set up.

Emily has done rather well with Emilie, who I gather was injured last week and shouldn't have played in the final, but they still won.

Top two seeds to duke it out for the title.

F: Dart/Corning (GBR/USA) [1] vs. Askew/Nicholls (GBR/GBR) [2]

I saw the match in Manchester - quite close. I still think Liebens will have too much tomorrow

Good news in the doubles 3 of the four semi finals involve GB players - I would really like Beth and Olivia to win. Olivia has just come over for the doubles and Beth is the local girl(mum and brother were down yesterday)

Looking good for your Beth and Olivia faves smile

Lovely to at least have 3 out of 4 Brits playing in the doubles final.

Emma Hurst's equivalent from a few years ago, although she ended up at Bath (not a bad thing). Does anyone know what their match gamestyles are like?

Megan is a shot maker, uses angles rather than power.
Emma very good defensively, prefers to use pace coming onto the ball.

Manon surprisingly lost the semi final and Liebens came back from a set and a break down to make the final

Well done, Beth and Olivia ! And Harriet too.

Interestingly, the French girl, Arcangioli, who seemed to be the hot pick from those who'd seen her, lost her semi-final today, put out by the Croatian player, although in a very tight match.

Liebens fulfilled her duty to win - having put out British players in R1, R2 and the QF, I think she was morally obliged to at least make the final.
