RE: Week 7 - ITF($10k) - The Wirral, UK (Hard)

Lauryn lost 7-5 in the second set in the end.

Good week, though.

Emma is 2-4 down but she looks in the match.

Laura D broke Manon's serve in the first game - keep it going, Laura !

Lauryn lost 2 & 5 in the end - it's been a very impressive few days from the 16yo though and Liebens is a good (former top 300) player.

That means Harriet plays Liebens next - although she is higher-ranked than the Belgian now, the H2H is 0-4 - a 3-set loss in juniors in 2012 then 3 straight sets losses in seniors in 2013, though the fact that Harriet was (still is, obviously ) a year and a half younger may have been more of a factor then than it should be now.

Emma goes out to Sugnaux 3 & 3.

Laura went on to win the 1st set, which is pretty stunning but is getting hammered in the 2nd 6-3 0-5* - in the 1st set, she won 30 points to Arcangioli's 26 but in the 2nd, the Frenchwoman leads 21-7

Emily, along with all the others on P1 of the current college thread will start college this Autumn.  This means they will start heading stateside during the last 2 weeks of August.  Freshmen usually have to be there a week before everyone else as they have all sorts of admin to get through - medical, international registration, acommodation etc etc etc.....

There are one or 2 at the bottom of each list who started this term after Christmas but I have highlighted that fact.

Just to add to that she is finishing off her A -levels at the moment and hoping to play on tour over Easter and in the summer, before she goes across the pond.

Manon did the same a few times last week, but still made the final

I saw the match in Manchester - quite close. I still think Liebens will have too much tomorrow

Good news in the doubles 3 of the four semi finals involve GB players - I would really like Beth and Olivia to win. Olivia has just come over for the doubles and Beth is the local girl(mum and brother were down yesterday)

As well as could be expected but Lauryn is the only previously unranked  GB player to get a point in 3 10ks.

Well done to Lauryn smile

Went down 1-5, came back to 4-5 but that's where it stopped. 4 gamss in a Senior set is an improvement for Harriet against Liebens though!
4-6

Hard to guess who the MTO was for from the score, or how it affected the match.
By some margin, the least productive overall of the three consecutive GB $10K's, for whatever reason.

It was to be expected with Katie Swan's late withdrawal and Maia's early exit..

Still there is the doubles to boast about. Can Emily Arb win back to back doubles?
