He's only gone and done it, winning 6 games in a row in the decider. What a win. 6-3 in the 3rd. GO BILLY.

That is massive, last I checked he was 0-3 in the decider and down 0-30 on his serve.

The momentum graph does suggest some sort of injury but cracking win all the same

OK. I am now safe to say this. I mentioned to Billy over the weekend that Court 2 was a good court for the Brits. It is the very same court where I first saw Kyle play as a young 17 yo. Unranked at the time, he stepped out to play a guy called Mark Vervoort who was in the 900s and simply wiped the floor with him, inflicting a 1st set bagel and going on to win in straight sets. This was the week before his 1st ever ranking point. The following year, Kyle again won on Court 2, in the pouring rain - some of you may remember my match report.

Interestingly, Billy and Kyle used to room together in their formative years when training at Bisham Abbey. So the Murcia Court 2 winning streak continues.

I just HAVE to get down for his next match.

Possibly, but Billy was 0-3 down in the 1st, 0-2 down in the 2nd and 0-3 down in the 3rd so I prefer to put it down to Billy's good fighting play.  It could also be early season fitness.  Don't know if Lizariturry has played yet this year or if this was his first match.  But regardless of that, what a terrific result.

The other seed in his quarter retired today leaving Billy to play the Italian in R2.

That really was an astonishing multiple comeback - and to do it against a player ranked over 600 places higher too!

2nd set still on serve at 4-4. Billy just faced his first break points of the set, 3 of them.
