The main draw is up.

Maia and KatieB are the two unaccounted-for wildcards.

Can anybody tell me what the limit is for WCs for each player, per year? Ta.

3 mains and three qualifiers, hence why Katie is going to Sharm rather than Wirral next week. Maia will probably play qualifiers at Wirral, as I'm sure she may want to save the third for later on in the year.

Cheers, paulisi. i was also curious about Freya's limit. By the by, there is a colossal corruption story up on the Grauniad website, and a new thread in General Topics.

The main draw is a bit disappointing pitting two all GB matches and potentially more depending on qualifying places.

Katy set to meet Katie B with Katie S waiting in the semis.
I expect Maia to have a decent run again this week. Given Harriet's poor run of results, Maia should be a clear favourite to win the opener.

Freya had to go through qualifiers at Shrewsbury 25K last year as she had used up all her wildcards. (she did make the final though...)

The girls are under performing as well with Manisha and Jodie going out. Maybe just the two qualifiers.

So like the men in their R1, the girls in their FQR have now matched the 'ranking' qualifiers - 2 ( Jazzamay And Emily ). And generally well outranked in the others. The rankings in general are not wildly out for the Brits here either though we obviously have hopes for such as young Jodie. I was though fairly impressed with her opponent, Mia Eklund, in Glasgow last week and didn't anticipate a win there.

Again yes perhaps hoped for a bit more overall 'at home', but to an extent for me both the guys and the gals today have more just not met some rather optimistic thoughts.

Our total number seeded to qualify at outset was just one, Laura D, and we have 2 through  ( as per rankings for today ) with Grace still battling. Really not that bad surely?

well done, Emily App - and apologies for not having faith in you !

And, as you very sagely say Indy, both here and the men, you can only really compare it to the rankings - and it's about spot on for both.

Grace finally succumbs 1-6 6-4 3-6
She had 3 BP chances in the final set; her opponent had two, but crucially, took one.

Sarah Beth 3-6 1-2*

Yes, I had just realised I hadn't seen a result for Beth either.

So basically doom was being declared after we got the two through in 'rankings' and two losses for Manisha ( albeit big scoreline ) and Jodie to two apparently fairly handy opponents ( one I saw last week ).

Hope Beth can yet make it 3, but I don't see that her ranking or form suggest a win here
