Maia lost the second set 6-4, but is really struggling on serve at just around 40% first serves. Manon improved her first serves from 40% to over 70% in the second set.

If you look back over the week, (and over the best players) Maia has one of the least amount of lapses of concentration.

And I know her Dutch coach said her mental strength is one of her big strong points.

Manon and Von Deichmann both lost 3 games on the bounce yesterday, (Katy and Maia just two), and Manon lost 5 on the trot the day before.

Women's tennis, being so much less serve based, has far more swings.

Strange that Maia's first serve percentage is pretty much the same from set 1 to 2, (44% and 41%), but the first serves won absolutely plummeted (85% to 36%)

Either she was serving a lot slower/shorter, or it was the same serve but Manon really started attacking it successfully.

Maia lost 11pts on the bounce in the first set.
I saw her at Shrewsbury do something similar...

However her first serve levels have now improved and she leads 3-1

Katy's stats don't look so bad.

But that's just stats. Looks like the first set was close.....

Agree that 11 points is a lot. And don't disagree that she did it, obviously.

But yesterday, it was 7 and 8 points each in a row, for Manon and Silvia, Liebens and Von D were 7 and 9 points, it's pretty normal in women's tennis.
