Just checked out Alexis' opponent (needs must and all) and he seems very spotty/patchy - two very good runs and a lot of first round losses. Allez, junior, another upset would be nice !
Pity for Toby but at least he was competitive today. He hasn't had a lot of luck with the draw so far this year. Played twice in Turkey, where he drew the Nš1 & Nš3 seeds, and then drew another seed here this week.
Rich managed to battle his way to a hard earned win beating Vavasorri 7-5 in the 3rd.
Alexis breaks back in the second set for 3-6 *4-4.
Purely on rankings we were due 4 players in R2. Luke Oakley got that very good 'shock' win and Dan Smethurst suffered a 'shock' loss. And as of now we have 4 players through.
Though for a home futures I'd be hoping the Brits would be a bit in credit ( and as far as I can see we were slightly behind the eightball last week in Glasgow ). So in that respect a little disappointing, though some were heavily outranked.
C'mon Alexis.
