And at that score, somewhat perturbingly, the ITF scoreboard is now showing "INTERRUPTED" for this court alone, and has been for the last 15 minutes whilst play continues on all other courts.
*tries not to worry*

Finally resolves itself, and...
That is a pretty sterling effort, but no reward. She'll get her next time!

Only won 8 points in that set, I'm afraid.
The previous exertions in the blazing heat perhaps still lingering.
0-6*

Well, Lisa in her career certainly never lacked for spirit or guts.
After a bathroom break at the end of set 1, comes out, breaks and backs it up to surpass her entire first set points total in two games
0-6 2-0*

Much more competitive in the second, but alas, the same outcome.

Tough for Freya but showing she's at a higher level than the ranking. A better draw and she could do great stuff in Aus.

Always fun when a qualifier wins.

And when the qualifier is only 16 years old, that's brilliant. (Or 36 years old too, actually, I like both)

SO - Congrats to 16 year-old qualifier, Jaimee Fourliss, who won the 25k !!! That's a biggee (even though SC certainly won't like that first name....)

Well done to her.
